One of the biggest mistakes when catalysing polyester resin when it is filled, is that the 2% maximum catalyst is of the resin content PBW (parts by weight)
too much catalyst will create too much reaction of the resin and this produces excess gas bubbles this will create little air bubbles in the resin. As an example if you mix 1kg of resin with 1kg of filler powder you have 2000gms (2kgs) of mix. The catalyst would be 2% of the resin content therefore the catalyst would be 20gms and not 40gms.
